About Association of Slovenian foundations - ZSU
Association of Slovenian foundations - ZSU is the only national network of foundations in Slovenia (which currently includes more than 40 foundations from around 200 existing foundations in Slovenia. It has been established in 2000 as a non-political, cross-party national organization of Slovenian foundations. It is the bearer of the interests of civil society initiated amendments to existing legislation, substantially related to the functioning of foundations in Slovenia. ZSU is proposing new legislative solutions in favor of foundations and investors, financial and physical resources in foundations, etc.
ZSU supports: education, training of employees in the foundations and persons involved in the work of foundations or as a volunteer on their honor, promote and strengthen the role of foundations in the Slovenian society, expert advice, information and legal advice to the complainant for the establishment of new foundations and organizing foundations ; collecting, researching and processing information and statistical data for monitoring and supporting the implementation of activities, informing the Slovenian and international public about the Slovenian foundations, timely detection and enforcement of the common interests of Slovenian foundations in relation to public administration, establishing dialogue with the public administration and partnership with its representatives and representative of, and linking the Association with similar networks in Slovenia and other countries.

About Slovenian Donors’ Forum - SFD
Slovenian Donors’ Forum - SFD is an independent network of employers and other networks, which will bring together economic operators, donors, professional institutions and horizontal networks of NGOs. As such, it will represent the right amount SFD platform for organizing professional conferences with international participation and the first Slovenian Donors’ Forum.
SFD will be strengthening the connection with the holding mechanism for financing sustainable development and non-governmental sector through the acquisition of independent financial resources / grants from the economy. Foundations, especially the community foundations, professionals, NGOs and donors are the ones who can assure the creation of good atmosphere for philanthropy and donations, especially in local social contexts and with the help of successful projects promoting a culture of donations.
SFD is a kind of umbrella or a bridge between non-governmental sector and the economy, space and platform for both sectors. SFD will be the promoter and motivator for donations businessmen to engage in their local environments and improve the links between corporate donors, foundations, non-governmental sector and the Government. To this end, the SDF organized round tables, seminars and an annual conference with international participation of experts, and awards for companies with best practices in the area of donations of non-governmental sector, analyzing the strategies of corporate donations, worked with multinationals present in Slovenia and in Eastern Europe transmit known and best practices in all regions of the country, create new insights and understanding of the donor community and an atmosphere of trust between the nonprofit and the profit sector, etc..
Companies may take the form of sponsorship activities fully financed by NGOs (for humanitarian, cultural, scientific, educational, sports, environmental and religious purposes), if they consider that such funding is in line with their business plan or their activity, but is, unfortunately, the tax law is the one that is not stimulating enough to consider taking more massive undertaking for such a cooperation and investment funds / donations to non-governmental organizations (low relief). It is therefore Slovenian Donors’ Forum the space and opportunity for joint planning and finding solutions to policy development in the field of essential non-governmental sector. Slovenian Donors’ Forum will be the mechanism that will, first planned the strategy and policy on NGO financing from commercial sources, on the other hand, will be partner with the government in finding a legislative solution (tax law) which will provide a stimulus to economic organizations for cooperation and funding of non-governmental sector.
